"there is yet faith But the faith and the love and the hope are all in the waiting." T.S. Eliot, "Wait Without Hope"
What are the Seasons of Advent and Christmas?
Advent is a four-week period in which the church around the world looks back to Jesus' first coming as our Savior, and looks forward to his second coming as our Judge. It is a time in which we encourage each other to be ready for Jesus' coming again, when he will fulfill God's promises and renew all things. In this season, we wait and prepare ourselves to celebrate Christmas and the birth of Jesus.
Christmas is a twelve-day period in which the church rejoices in the Incarnation of Jesus and the fulfillment of Advent promises. The long-awaited Messiah has come; the light of the world has been born! We rejoice in Emmanuel, God with us.
